TRAINING CAMP
Training camp is open to BATTALION players ONLY. It is a week long training camp held at Body Zone during the day. The camp will be held August 22nd-August 26th.
The Pee Wees-Midgets will be at the rink from 8:30am-about 4:30pm. The Mites and Squirts will have a more abbreviated day. The camp is NOT included in your price. The camp will cost each player $250 and include lunch. It is highly recommended that all players attend training camp. At camp the players unite as a team and are introduced many things they will be expected to know throughout the season.

The Royal Berks Battalion is the NEW organization in Berks County! This organization has been formed by the combination of the Berks Blue Lions and the Reading Jr. Royals. With these two clubs combined we will be able to find a place for all level of players to play ice hockey. The goal of the organization is to provide an environment that emphasizes discipline, hard work, friendship, fun, and love of the game. Our focus is to develop players to take them to the next level of their game. We accomplish this goal with a focus on individual skills and implementing hockey systems along with team strategies. The Royal Berks Battalion will field teams in the Delaware Valley Hockey League (DVHL), the Tri-State Hockey League (THL), and the Mid-Atlantic Women’s Hockey Association (MAWHA). We will pride ourselves on player development and quality coaching.
All Squirt through Midget teams will include the following:
- 2 Practices Weekly
- 2 Tournaments
- 1 Practice Jersey
- 2 Game Jerseys
- 2 Sets of Game Socks
- Year End Awards
- Goalie Instruction
*All Midget and Bantam teams will include off-ice training.

BATTALION MITES
The Battalion Mite Program is open to players born in the years 2003-2006. All players must have previous skating experience. USA Hockey has mandated that all mite programs play cross ice. Our program will consist of two practices per week and about 15 cross ice games. The mites will also participate in one tournament. Included in the price is one practice jersey and one game jersey with socks.
The cost of this program is $725.
BATTALION GIRLS
The Battalion will be fielding a U19 team. The team is open to all girls who are nineteen and younger. The team will practice twice a week and play a minimum of 20 games. Included in the price for the team is two tournaments, one practice jersey, two game jerseys, two pairs of game socks, and year end awards.
The fee for this team is $1750 per player.
JUNIOR BATTALION
The Battalion is interested in growing the sport of ice hockey in Berks County. To help us accomplish this we are offering a Junior Battalion program for players who are interested in starting to play ice hockey. (All players must have already completed a Learn to Skate class or another comparable program). The Junior Battalion will practice twice a week focusing on skating, stick handling, shooting, and other hockey basics. We will prepare each player so they are ready to go to a Battalion team. Each player will also receive a Battalion practice jersey.
The cost of this program is $500 per player.
UNIFORM POLICY
All Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget, and Girls players are required to wear a navy helmet and navy Tackla shell during games in addition to the mandated game jersey and socks. ALL players are required to wear their assigned practice jersey at practice.
FUNDRAISING
The Battalion is committed to keeping hockey affordable to all who want to participate. The Battalion boasts an extensive fundraising program where the profit player’s make goes right to their team fee. The Battalion never gives refunds due to excessive fundraising.
DISCOUNTS
If you are paid in full by August 1st you will receive a 10% discount. If you have multiple children you receive 10% off every child’s fee after the oldest.
